Summer student opportunity

The FHCA is looking to hire a high school student for grounds maintenance this summer. Activities include grass cutting, sportsfield upkeep, clean up duties and general maintenance. To apply, please send an email indicating your interest with your qualifications to by April 30, 2021.

Provincial Stay at Home order – April 17 update

The Province’s latest COVID-19 “stay at home” order closes playgrounds and sportsfields and expands the power of police. Harbourites, please tell your kids that unfortunately the Fitzroy Harbour Community Centre grounds are not open until the Province changes the regulations.  Updated April 17 to reflect the Province has reopened playgrounds.

2021 Youth Softball Season – April 5 update

Whether or not we will be able to have a youth softball season in 2021 is still uncertain. However, West Carleton Softball is now collecting names of those (born 2002 to 2016) interested in playing in the case that we are able to start the season.

Fitzroy Harbour Annual General Meeting

Thanks to the community members as well as Councillor Eli El-Chantiry and Lisa Anderson from the City and Jake Davies from West Carleton Online who attended the Fitzroy Harbour Community Association Annual General Meeting on March 11.

We discussed the quiet past year and our plans for the year going forward. The reports presented are available here.

FHCA Scholarship 2020 – winners

Congratulations to our 2020 FHCA Scholarship winners.

Jacob Gagnon is studying Fitness and Health promotion at Algonquin College.

Owen Brown is studying Biology at the University of Ottawa.

Both winners receive $500 to put towards their studies.

New swing set at Baird Park

The installation of the new swing set at Baird Park is completed and it is ready for use. This project was funded by the City of Ottawa. In 2021, the City has a project scheduled to replace the play structure at Egbert Reitsma Park at the Community Centre.
